Background
Accessible Adventures, an organization seeking 501(c)(3) status, needed both a refreshed visual identity and a professional website to support their application process and improve operational efficiency.
Problem
The organization was working with an outdated visual identity and relied on paper-based registration for participants. They also lacked a centralized platform for community event information, and operated with limited funds — so the solution had to be cost-free to build and easy to maintain.
Solution
As project manager, designer, and volunteer developer, I led the initiative end-to-end. I designed a new logo and visual identity that gave the organization a polished, professional presence aligned with their mission. I then built the website on Azure Static Web Apps (free tier), with project management through Azure DevOps. For participant and volunteer data, I moved registration onto Google Forms feeding into a shared Google Sheet — a deliberately simple backend that costs nothing, requires no developer to maintain, and lets board members view and sort responses with tools they already know. The site itself serves as a central hub for upcoming community events.
Results
The new identity and website together support Accessible Adventures' 501(c)(3) application by giving them a credible professional presence. Digital registration has streamlined participant management, and the event hub has improved community engagement. Future plans include status-checking for parents and a volunteer sign-up flow.
